THE FIRST TEE OF SALINA YOUTH GOLF PROGRAMS

To sign up for our award-winning Junior Golf program, stop by the Salina Municipal Golf Course starting May 4th. Three-time Midwest Section PGA Junior Golf Leader, Steve Hardesty, and PGA Professional, Mike Hargrave, will supervise all instruction. Click "LEARN MORE" for specific class times.   Program Developments
The First Tee of Salina has 1 ½ hour classes for each session. Students will learn a variety of Life Skills and golf skills into a seamless approach. Practice will take place on the driving range, putting green, short game facility, and short course. At least three instructors will be available for each class lead by PGA Professionals Mike Hargrave and Steve Hardesty.

The First Tee Life Skills Experience

The First Tee Life Skills Experience is one of the unique features that differentiates The First Tee from many other successful junior golf programs.  Through the Life Skills Experience, participants learn valuable lessons about the importance of maintaining a positive attitude; how to make decisions by thinking about the possible consequences and how to define and set goals from the golf course to everyday life.
The First Tee Certification Process

The First Tee wants everyone who completes The First Tee Experience to have acquired basic golf skills and to be able to demonstrate certain fundamental life skill concepts – such as interpersonal communication and the importance of rules and etiquette.
The First Tee Coach

The First Tee Coach Program is an educational training program that prepares staff and volunteers at Chapters of The First Tee to deliver The First Tee Life Skills Experience, which includes the TARGET program, as well as the Par, Birdie, Eagle and Ace levels of certification.
Assistant Coach Training
The First Tee Assistant Coach Training for individuals who want to be more involved with the ongoing coaching and mentoring of The First Tee participants at the Chapter level but may not be able to spend the time required to become recognized as a The First Tee Coach.
